Describe your style in 3 words?
Versatile. Bold. Comfy
How do you stay up to date on the current trends? Any favorites?
Magazines tend to always keep me up to date when I’m on the go. Vogue, InStyle, Cosmo & Harpers Baazar are some of the magazine companies that help me stay on top of trends and current fashion forecasting.
What are some must have items in your closet?
Statement pieces are always essential in my closet, but the most essential items of all are basics. Basic clothing is a template for whatever statement pieces you want to put on whether top or bottom. Other must have items that should be in your closet are: a unisex sneaker, structured blazer and/or leather jacket, simplistic jewelry, ballet flats, a classic pant whether denim or slack. Neutral pumps are nice to throw on to dress up and outfit, and lets forget about the infamous little black dress.
Where do you go or what do you do when you need inspiration for your work?
When needing inspiration for my work I tend to head to a museum or art exhibit of any sort. Fashion is the highest art form and has never been more accessible to the masses than it is today. Colors, structure, and creativity broadens my horizons while viewing different exhibits and forces me to look at fashion from a different angle giving me the inspiration that I need to conquer my work task.
Could you tell us about your favorite client or project to date?
My favorite project to date is actually happening as we speak. I can’t speak much of it but I will say that there big in ATL and now opening up more in the fashion scene.
What is the hardest thing about the industry?
Hardest thing by far is staying focus. It’s so easy to get comfortable and work at a slower pace, but time waits for no one & laziness kills.
What advice would you give to that person who is scared to take the leap and pursue their passion?
GO FOR IT! You have one life to live, why not live it doing something that you love.
What are your long term goals?
I’m honestly going with the flow. I’m a lover of not only fashion, but also music. Hopefully one day I can mash it all up and become iconic.
